I was inspired to revive this blog to translate another piece that had just come to my attention: another fictitious, malicious, and astoundingly disrespectful piece of work called “Eternal Apology” which shows Japanese PM Abe Shinzo bowing to the ground – a Japanese gesture to show deference or a deep apology – in front of a “comfort woman” prostitute, which, obviously, has never happened.
Instead of launching into a personal tirade about this, I’m going to simply share a quick English translation of this article. Again, you are encouraged to share this and other materials and discuss the matter with your friends. I apologize in advance for any mistranslation, because, frankly, I do not understand what in the world they are saying.

Statue of Abe Scheduled To Be Unveiled In August
A statue of Abe bowing to the ground before a Comfort Woman is scheduled to be unveiled in August.
Korean Botanical Garden announced on July 25th that it was going to unveil a statue entitled “A Heartfelt Apology / Eternal Apology”.
Sculptor Wang Kwang-hyun said, “This work is intended to uplift the spirit of expression of apology the Comfort Women deserve; and it shall be the origin of a newborn Japan that is capable of directly facing its history and expressing a heartfelt apology”.
The Garden’s Director Kim Changyeol said, “Seeing how the Comfort Girl Statues home and abroad have been condemned, scoffed, and vandalised, we decided that we needed to not only express our stance but to formalize the subject of the Sin in a certain manner, which materialized in the statue of Abe stared down upon by the Girl”.
And looking at the title “Eternal Apology”, it would be safe to presume that they expect the apology to be repeated until the end of time. Every time I see this kind of rhetoric, I can’t help but think of the Christian notion of Original Sin, also called Ancestral Sin or Ancestral Fault, which in this case, to boot, is based upon an entirely fictional “history” simply not supported by any historical evidence, unlike the “prostitute” version as I’ve shared on this blog.
“You are sinful for what we insist your ancestors did to ours, even though we can’t prove it and neither of us are directly concerned parties. And for that, we are entitled to extort, insult, and otherwise emotionally blackmail you, your ancestors and your descendants forever“. It is nothing but an arbitrary tool of control that is fundamentally dishonest and discriminatory relative to race, culture, and ethnicity; if you were to go by their logic, you might as well just erase the entire living organisms on this planet as none would be left standing “sin”less. Of course, we’ve seen similar ethnic guilt used by professional victims the world over, incidentally of a similar political ideology.
And so, it makes sense that certain activists among their descendants have chosen to console themselves by imagining him in this dogeza gesture representing surrender. At the end of the day, they have been making every effort to remove PM Abe who initially declared that he intended to permanently end this hateful chain of painful discrimination, extortion and guilt-trip his people have suffered since the time of Syngman Rhee.
However, with how history has been fabricated in the past to suit the agenda of certain parties, in a few decades’ time, this statue representing his imaginary apology and subjugation might also come be remembered as an actual historical fact, just like how baseless lies about Comfort Women, Nanjing, the Rising Sun symbol etc., have been made out to be facts.
